Dr. Zain Husain, MD FAAD FACMS is a dual board-certified dermatologist and Mohs micrographic surgeon with fellowship training in cosmetic dermatology. His medical education began with his acceptance into the competitive accelerated 7-year BS/MD program at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School. There he graduated with the top academic honors and was inducted into the esteemed Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.
Based on his strong academic record and interest in dermatology, Dr. Husain was selected to train at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, DC for his dermatology residency. There he excelled and served as chief resident in his final year. Subsequently, he pursued a dual fellowship in Mohs Micrographic Surgery and cosmetic dermatology at Montefiore Medical Center, Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York. He received extensive training in advanced skin cancer surgery and reconstruction, as well as cosmetic procedures such as injectables, body contouring, and laser surgery.
After completing fellowship, Dr. Zain Husain worked in private practice and served as a clinical dermatology instructor at the George Washington University School of Medicine in Washington, DC. After his wife completed her pediatric residency, they moved to New Jersey where Dr. Husain established a thriving independent dermatology practice and also served as a clinical dermatology instructor at Rutgers University. His practice quickly earned a reputation as a premier destination for dermatology services, reflecting his unwavering commitment to excellence in patient care.
After several years in practice in NJ, Dr. Husain and his wife decided to relocate their family to the picturesque state of North Carolina, where he founded Noor Dermatology and Aesthetics in Cary, NC. His vision was clear—to create a state-of-the-art dermatology center of excellence in the vibrant Triangle area, providing the community with unparalleled care and service in a beautiful, comfortable office environment.
Beyond his clinical pursuits, Dr. Husain has shared his knowledge with the medical community by delivering lectures on various dermatologic topics at national conferences and contributing articles to prestigious peer-reviewed medical journals. His dedication to continuous learning is underscored by his membership in organizations such as the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD), American College of Mohs Surgery (ACMS), and the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery (ASDS). Dr. Husain continues his commitment to academics as he teaches dermatology residents at UNC Chapel Hill.
In his leisure time, Dr. Husain enjoys watching movies, running, and weightlifting. An avid traveler, he loves the opportunity to explore new countries, cultures, and cuisines. He lives with his wife, Dr. Amna Husain and their three young daughters.
